I got this product to replace the humangear capcap gen 2 I ordered a couple of years ago. I didn't like how the silicone o-ring design would often house mildew.
This definitely fit the bill.
Clocking at less than $10 for 3 this insert is snug enough in the widemouth. Fit was my main concern as i was concerned that if i attempted a "Chug" the water might cascade through attachment, dislodging it thoroughly and pour the contents of my 32 oz Nalgene on my lower face and chest.
There is not fitment issues. It sits snugly in the mouth, and cannot be easily removed unless you stick your finger into the hole and pull out with some intention, at which point it will "pop" out with some authority.
The texture of the attachment is a matte. I have rinsed it, but if it required committed cleaning, it will surely be easy to do.

I love the wide mouth Nalgene bottles because they are durable and easy to clean. But like a lot of people, I was getting splashed the face when I took a sip. I was skeptical that these would stay put…BUT THEY DO!! it wedges in nicely at the top of the wide mouth, and the flow of water perfect. They are easy to pull out for cleaning, too! My only wish was that Nalgene made a variety pack of colors to add a little play of color fun to my daily hydration. Bottom line, though, is that these make the wide mouth bottles perfect for drinking. Zero regrets on this purchase!

I prefer the wide-mouth flat top Nalgene bottles both because they are easy to clean/dishwasher safe and so I can add ice. However, they are not the most user friendly when you are trying to drink from them on the go. This is a great item to prevent yourself from getting a lap or a chest full of water. The only trick is to make sure when placing it in the mouth of the bottle, not to push it too far down because otherwise it will go into the bottle. (To be fair, I’m not sure how they could have fixed that issue, and it’s easy enough to pull it out and adjust it.)
Once in place, it works beautifully as advertised, as long as you don’t push down on it too hard.
The 3-pack is handy in case one is lost. They are easy to clean, too.

I am very pleased with my purchase of these Nalgene splash guards. I use the wide mouth bottles on a daily basis and for camping, so these are a necessity for me! I first purchased a single black one and loved it so much I decided to buy the three pack; I have a number of these bottles so I go through the splash guards often. They are dishwasher safe, but I just wash them by hand. They look small, but they are very important and durable little pieces of plastic. I also tried Guyot, but they have a distinct smell and taste (silicone) that I do not like, although they have some cute designs (but who cares what the splash guard looks like anyway? It does not need a snowflake or smiley face!). I highly recommend these and the three pack saves a little money as well!

The wide mouth bottle always allows water to either splash up around your face while drinking and maybe still hiking, or whatever you may be doing. This solves it all by reducing the water hole. Love this product. My brother in SC said he doesn’t like these, said his fell into the bottle. I’ve had several of these for several bottles. Never had an issue.
I’m guessing he bought a “generic” version of these. Nalgene bottle and Nalgene brand sipper together is a perfect fit.
I cannot recommend these enough. I’m going to have to buy some and have them shipped to his house for a retry.
