Hands-Free Drinking for Everyone

The Giraffe Bottle line of hands-free drinking bottles is designed for individuals living with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, quadriplegia, ALS, and other physical disabilities. It features an extended straw, or “neck” (you know, like a giraffe) that is designed to make independent hydration a reality for all users. Note: Mixing up the Giraffe Bottle and a real giraffe can have unpredictable results.

Which “neck” should I get?

The Tower neck, featuring a small straw and a hard, modular plastic exterior, offers stable positioning, ideal for individuals with mild to moderate reduced lung function. The Tower XL neck retains the hard outer shell but incorporates a larger inner straw, suiting those with full lung function but limited to no hand use. Lastly, the Journey neck, comparable in size to the Tower XL but lacking an outer shell, is best for individuals with partial paralysis or those recovering from surgery with limited hand mobility.

Who we are

Giraffe Bottle is part of Oak Hill Brands. We are a small business located in Illinois, and we specialize in assistive technology for individuals with physical disabilities.

How we started

Oak Hill Brands started selling assistive technology with the ModularHose brand back in 2009, making low cost wheelchair mounting solutions for switches, tablets, phones, AAC devices, and more. The Giraffe Bottle first became available in 2018.

What makes us different

We know it can be a pain to go through insurance to get assistive tech. That’s why it’s our goal to keep all our products low-cost for users while still making our products high-quality, durable, and specifically designed with the disability community in mind.

STAINLESS STEEL BOTTLE – The 700ml/25oz stainless steel bottle is made from industry-standard 18/8 (304) stainless steel. It is durable, will not rust, and does not retain flavor after being properly washed. It is DOUBLE WALL VACUUM INSULATED, standard for high-end steel bottles and thermoses. This resists condensation and keeps hot drinks hot for up to 10 hours and cold drinks cold for 18+ hours.
FLEXIBLE AND ADJUSTABLE – Features a 36 inch / 91 cm flexible modular plastic hose and drinking tube. The neck is fully and repeatedly adjustable and will stay in place without springing back.
INTERCHANGEABLE AND REPLACEABLE PARTS – Each component is easily replaceable for hygiene and interchangeable for customization.
REMOVABLE CHECK VALVE – The check valve prevents liquid from flowing back into the bottle. For those with limited lung function, keeping liquid primed and at-the-ready makes staying hydrated a breeze.
BOTTLE HOLDER SOLD SEPARATELY – Does not include a bottle holder; the Giraffe Bottle Aluminum Bottle Holder, which attaches to wheelchairs, desks, and more, is available separately or as part of a different kit. More details are below in the product description.
